What is speech-to-text (STT)?
Technology that converts spoken audio into written text, also called automatic speech recognition (ASR).
Speech-to-text (STT), explained
In a voice agent, speech-to-text turns the caller's words into text the language model can read. Accuracy on accents, background noise and mixed languages decides how well the agent understands.
For Indian callers, models trained on Indian languages and code-mixed speech, such as Hinglish or Tenglish, matter more than generic models.
