What is voice bot?
An automated system that talks to callers by voice. Older voice bots follow scripts; newer ones are AI voice agents.
Voice bot, explained
Early voice bots recognised a few keywords and followed a fixed flow, which is why many callers found them frustrating.
Today the term often means an AI voice agent that understands free speech, handles interruptions and can complete tasks during the call.
When evaluating a voice bot, test it with real callers: accents, background noise, interruptions and mixed languages quickly show the difference between a scripted bot and a capable AI voice agent.
